Fantasy LEC Spring Week 5 Picks

Whether you are playing to win the F2P Cup, 1v1 Challenge, or taking on a Squad Battle, we all are after the W. We may even make some money on the way. So let’s take a look and see which players should be in your quarantine bubble and which players you should socially distance from this week.

  • SLEEPER: A medium-to-low priced player that is set up well to shock the world (in a good way)
  • BREAKOUT: A player that is poised to drastically outperform their price, whatever it may be
  • BUST: A medium-to-high priced player that will fail to return value on their price

Top Lane

Kryze Excel

SLEEPER: Kryze – Excel Esports $220,000 (vs MAD & AST)

Kryze has been putting up numbers lately! Part of it has to do with XL’s shift from Support-Top to giving him true carry potential Champs. Also, his KP has been beautiful. Before the loss to FNC, he had four straight wins with 75%+ KP, a streak that saw him top 26 points 3 times.

bwipo fnatic

BREAKOUT: Bwipo – Fnatic $280,000 (vs VIT & MAD)

Are we seeing Bwipo breaking out and becoming the new #1 Fantasy Top Laner in the LEC?? Over his last six games, he has averaged 34.8 points! Fnatic is putting all of their trust in him, and damn, is it paying off.

BUST: Armut – MAD Lions $210,000 (vs XL & FNC)

I don’t care that he just had a 45 point game. None of those points count for this week, so I will not chase a big performance from last week as he heads into a week of tougher competition.

LoL Jungler Icon

SLEEPER: TynX – SK Gaming $240,000 (vs S04 & MSF)

Do you know what always makes for an easy sleeper? When you had a player with two of the best three matchups in a given week. S04 (8th) and MSF (10th) rank Top 3 in terms of points allowed to Junglers per game this season. TynX is in the right place at the right time.

BREAKOUT: Dan – Excel Esports $240,000 (vs MAD & AST)

Just behind TynX is the strength of schedule for Dan. However, the “tougher” matchup for Dan is Astralis. So if you don’t believe in Astralis’ new form breakout, you should be betting on Dan.

Gilius Schalke

BUST: Gilius – FC Schalke 04 $260,000 (vs SK & G2)

Last week, Gilius had 0 Kills to 9 Deaths. And that came against two teams that were further down in the standings than his opponents this week. S04 always seems to show up when they are doubted most, but I am not betting on them.

LoL Mid Lane Icon

Mid Lane

SLEEPER: MagiFelix – Astralis $220,000 (vs G2 & XL)

Do you believe in Magi? This new Astralis roster is undefeated… Okay, I am not telling anybody to buy in, but I would like to highlight the upside of paying just $220k for a Mid Laner with a super high upside 1-1 week ahead of him.

humanoid Mad Lions

BREAKOUT: Humanoid – MAD Lions $250,000 (vs XL & FNC)

Another tepid recommendation. MAD has been a mess lately. However, if they are going to turn it around, it will be on the back of Humanoid. This week especially, he faces the two teams that give up the most Fantasy points per game to Mid Laners this season.

nisqy cloud9

BUST: Nisqy – Fnatic $310,000 (vs VIT & MAD)

Why am I bashing Nisqy coming off of a 60+ point week? Well, how he got to that total should worry you. He had 13 Assists in both of his games with a sub 70% KP. This means that Nisqy needs Fnatic to win both games while getting at least 25 Kills to return $310k value. I just don’t see that trend continuing.

Crownshot SK Gaming

SLEEPER: Crownshot – Team Vitality $220,000 (vs FNC & RGE)

Okay, this is just a fun one. I would NEVER have guessed that Crownie would ever be the cheapest option at the position, but it has been a crazy year for him and Vitality. Talent-wise, I could still make an argument for Top 5. Now that he had a week to shake off the rust let’s see how to superstar can perform when all odds are against him.

hans sama rogue

BREAKOUT: Hans Sama – Evil Geniuses $320,000 (vs MSF & VIT)

Larssen cannot get every Kill for Rogue, and Odoamne and Inspired continue to show that they don’t want them. Hans Sama has 25 Kills just over his last three games and only has one game with less than 4 all season. Stud.

Carzzy Mad Lions

BUST: Carzzy – MAD Lions $260,000 (vs XL & FNC)

Before his crazy 9 Kills game vs. S04, he has only 3 Kills across his last three games. There is the risk that MAD continues to struggle. The risk that Carzzy ends up on Seraphine again. Or even he ends up on an ‘IDK what I’m doing, Tristana.’ A lot of risks.

LoL Support Icon

Vander Rogue Headshot

SLEEPER: Vander – Misfits $70,000 (vs RGE & SK)

Not only does Vander lead the entire position in Fantasy Points in Wins, but he also has a big REVENGE GAME this week! The Bot Lane has been a strength for Misfits, and Vander can return value with a single game.

BREAKOUT: Trymbi – Rogue $120,000 (vs MSF & VIT)

At some point, he has to get comfortable being in the LEC and stop dying so much, right? Well, if anything can help you stay alive, it is matchups with MSF and Vitality.

Hylissang Fnatic

BUST: Hylissang – Fnatic $130,000 (vs VIT & MAD)

After two straight strong weeks, this seems as good of a time as ever for the Hyli Hype Train to run into a brick wall for no reason like it always seems to do.

Astralis logo

SLEEPER: Astralis $170,000 (vs G2 & XL)

Hey! Laugh all you want! But if you have a 2-0 week and then are still the 2nd cheapest option at the position, it would be irresponsible for somebody to dismiss you completely.

Sk Gaming Logo

BREAKOUT: SK Gaming $200,000 (vs S04 & MSF)

And the streak continues. SK Gaming has won at least 1 game every week of the LEC so far. I would not bet for this to be the week the streak ends, as they are more likely to go 2-0 than they are 0-2.

BUST: Excel Esports $260,000 (vs MAD & AST)

Excel just does not have enough sustained success for me to now believe they are a Top 4 LEC team. I feel like I want to believe it each year but am given too many reasons not to. This week features a slumping team and a surging team; both make me risky for odd but various reasons.
