Fantasy LCS Spring Week 5 Picks

Whether you are playing to win the F2P Cup, 1v1 Challenge, or taking on a Squad Battle, we all are after the W. We may even make some money on the way. So let’s take a look and see which players should be in your quarantine bubble and which players you should socially distance from this week.

  • SLEEPER: A medium-to-low priced player that is set up well to shock the world (in a good way)
  • BREAKOUT: A player that is poised to drastically outperform their price, whatever it may be
  • BUST: A medium-to-high priced player that will fail to return value on their price

Top Lane

SLEEPER: Revenge – Immortals $210,000 (vs CLG, EG & FLY)

Top is deep this week, which is not something I am used to saying. However, if you can go all the way down to $210k and still have a chance at 2 wins, there is depth. Revenge already has two 30+ point games in Wins this season, so there is nice upside here too.

Finn Rogue

BREAKOUT: Finn – Counter Logic Gaming $220,000 (vs IMT, FLY & TL)

Even in a 1-2 week, Finn was still able to top 60 points last week. He is one of the only Top Laners that can say they already have 3 games of 5+ Kills this split. You aren’t supposed to get upside like that for $220k!

BUST: FakeGod – Dignitas $250,000 (vs TSM, GG & EG)

After failing to score 15 points in any of his 3 games last week, 2 of which came against CLG & IMT, I don’t have optimism he will shatter that mark against TSM or EG.

Xerxe Origen

SLEEPER: Xerxe – Immortals $230,000 (vs CLG, EG & FLY)

When the script is favorable for Immortals, we see a different version of Xerxe. He is confident, playmaking and racking up fantasy points. It isn’t a fluke that he is 3rd at the position in Points in Wins. This week is one of his better chances of having the script in his favor.

Dardoch Dignitas

BREAKOUT: Dardoch – Dignitas $280,000 (vs TSM, GG & EG)

Even though DIG disappointed a lot of owners last week, Dardoch definitely did not. Even as the total Kills for the team dropped, Dardoch’s Kill Share skyrocketed, still getting 13 Kills in their 2 losses.

BUST: Josedeodo – Flyquest $250,000 (vs C9, CLG & IMT)

I am hoping to see a weekend of games that restore my belief in the breakout, but I am still waiting. His 31.7 point game in a loss was nice, but his 12 point performance in a win was disturbing.

Mid Lane

pobelter Counterlogic gaming

SLEEPER: Pobelter – Counter Logic Gaming $250,000 (vs IMT, FLY & TL)

Hoping Pobelter takes his benching as well as WildTurtle did in 2020, coming back in with a new fire that nobody in the LCS can stop. It was good to see POB put up 30+ in a competitive match, something that CLG should have 2 of this weekend. Then a nice revenge game!

powerofevil flyquest

BREAKOUT: PowerOfEvil – Team SoloMid $260,000 (vs DIG, 100 & C9)

As long as Control Mages exist, POE will have the ability to breakout. The more TSM plays, the more clear it becomes just how reliant they are on POE. If they will have any success this weekend, it will be on his back.

BUST: Damonte – 100 Thieves $300,000 (vs EG, TSM & GG)

Even though 100 Thieves went 2-1 last weekend, they gave you nothing to actually be excited or confident about. Especially Damonte, as he finished the weekend with 1 Kill and 12 Deaths.

Bot Lane

SLEEPER: Johnsun – Flyquest $270,000 (vs C9, CLG & IMT)

This is more of a dart throw than a true vote of confidence. Flyquest desperately needs a true carry, a role that Josedeodo does not want to be locked into. Johnsun has had that role before, and has a good ability to grow into it this week with even competition (other than C9 of course).

BREAKOUT: Deftly – Evil Geniuses $310,000 (vs 100, IMT & DIG)

Deftly has been playing such a strong a methodical playstyle this season that nobody has been able to exploit. It makes sense as to why he has the fewest Deaths of any ADC and leads the whole position in KDA. Judging by how his opposing Bots have been performing, I don’t see anybody ruining this trend this week.

BUST: Lost – Team SoloMid $270,000 (vs DIG, 100 & C9)

I voiced some optimism about POE, but I don’t share that same excitement for Lost. If TSM wins, it will not be through the Bot Lane this week. Even despite some struggles from DIG & 100, you are unable to give TSM’s Bot Lane the advantage in any of the 3 games.

Smoothie Counter Logic Gaming CLG

SLEEPER: Smoothie – Counter Logic Gaming $90,000 (vs IMT, FLY & TL)

People may not realize, but Smoothie has more Assists this season than CoreJJ, and only 1 behind Ignar. Winning helps Supports, but great KP and Team Kill Total can make up the difference. Smoothie is 2nd at the position in KP and use that to provide sneaky value.

Ignar Flyquest

BREAKOUT: Ignar – Evil Geniuses $110,000 (vs 100, IMT & DIG)

This is the perfect week for Ignar. EG comes into each match slightly favored, but should be challenged enough where the Kill Totals can get inflated. And we all know how much Ignar likes to fight!

BUST: Huhi – 100 Thieves $120,000 (vs EG, TSM & GG)

Across the 3 games last weekend, we saw Huhi die 15 times and fail to his 15 points in either of the 2 wins. It is tough to invest heavily into 100 Thieves right now.

Flyquest Logo

SLEEPER: Flyquest $220,000 (vs C9, CLG & IMT)

I was debating between Immortals and Flyquest here, but I feel like everybody has buried FLY in the dumpster already. Let’s see how much that win over TSM can boost their morale coming into a week where 2-1 is on the table.

CLG Logo

BREAKOUT: Counter Logic Gaming $230,000 (vs IMT, FLY & TL)

Okay, FINALLY the actual CLG team is together now! Broxah and a visa in Jungler and Pobelter in Mid. This preseason darling of veterans can finally start to climb up the LCS standings now.

100 Thieves Logo

BUST: 100 Thieves $280,000 (vs EG, TSM & GG)

The worst thing a struggling team can have is to be forced to play against the juggernaut team that already beat them once this season… Golden Guardians.
