Let’s get right down to business. Whether you are playing to win the F2P Cup, 1v1 Challenge, or taking on a Squad Battle, we all are after the W. We can even make some money on the way. So let’s take a look and see which players can be the biggest value, and who is most deserving of your Captain Crown.
* Signifies a match they only play if they win their first match
Alphari – Team Liquid $280,000 (vs TSM & C9*)
Alphari is so dominant that not only does he possess massive upside on his own, but he also lowers the scoring potential of anybody in-lane with him. Take the talent
Blaber – Cloud9 $310,000 (vs TSM or TL)
No remaining Jungler has anywhere near the scoring potential that Blaber possesses. Santorin and Spica have been putting up very modest numbers in both wins and losses, so take the historical dominance of Blaber and expect him to pop off on the big stage.
Perkz – Cloud9 $310,000 (vs TSM or TL)
Honestly, just combine what I said above about Alphari and Blaber and it applies to Perkz. Thankfully for opposing Mids, only 1 has to play against him, but Perkz still has stupid high upside, which was on display just last week.
Lost – TSM $270,000 (vs TL & C9*)
Yeah, this pick surprised me too. Even though nobody expects TSM to beat TL, you have to entertain the thought of that happening. I mean, did you expect them to be Top 3 in LCS right now? Lost, not POE, has been the true carry for TSM and can be expected to have a drastic point lead on his own team if TSM pulls the upset.
SwordArt – TSM $70,000 (vs TL & C9*)
When everybody is zigging, sometimes you just have to zag. Everybody is expecting and betting on a TL/C9 Finals. So you can just add another drop to that bucket, or you can bet on the TSM upset as a contrarian play, knowing you can auto-win money if TL drops the series.
Cloud9 $250,000 (vs TSM or TL)
Cloud9 doesn’t really care who ends up playing them. It is either the TL team they just beat, or the underdog TSM whom they drastically out-match in talent.
Best Overall Captain: C9 Blaber: Nidalee & Hecarim
Oddly enough, it is Blaber that has the easiest Champion pool to predict this time around, not Zven. Even though Blaber hasn’t had gaudy point totals, that is more a result of him not having to do so. However, we can expect C9 to be pushed a little harder with a trip to MSI on the line, so expect more Kills as a whole, but especially more to come from Blaber.
Risky Captain: TL Jensen: Orianna & Ahri
With Bot Lane getting tricky, Jensen presents a pretty tantalizing opportunity for a Captain. Even if they lose to C9, you can still get a 3 win series from TL with upside for more. Jensen has played either of these 2 Champions on 5 occasions already these playoffs.
