In order to win big in E1 Fantasy, you want to find VALUE! I’m not just talking about getting your money back, I’m talking about getting what you paid for AND some more. What is value? Well in a perfect world, the highest-priced player at a position would score the most points and so on down; they would all provide value based on their price. We don’t want to be average though, we want more. So we are looking for the players who will score much higher than their price suggests, returning extra value. In order to help you find these value players, we provided two options at each of the six lineup spots.
TL is so confident in Impact’s play right now that they are first picking Mordekaiser for him and fighting around him. In the 3 wins against GG last week, Impact had 4+ Kills and 70%+ KP in 2 games each. And I’m not sure if you watched that game, but let’s just say it wasn’t played at the fastest pace for fights… FLY will help speed up the pace and produce more Kills, especially for Impact as FLY Solo is seen as FLY’s spot to exploit.
Gilius may be the face of S04’s miracle run, but Odoamne deserves just as much credit. He has been such a steady and consistent force in the Top lane, never being a liability to his team. Even in their 3-0 win over SK, Odoamne only had 2 Deaths total. With all the momentum in the world behind him, he will face Orome in-lane, the MAD players struggling the most.
Picking upsets in fantasy is an artform. It isn’t all about knowing what team to choose, but knowing what player(s) to invest in. TSM is a sexy upset pick this week, and Spica is my favorite spot on the squad to invest in. The most important stat for me to have any confidence in a player is KP, and Spica has the 2nd highest KP of any player in the LCS Playoffs. The fact that he already has 2 games with over 39 Fantasy points this Summer shows his upside, and his cheap $220k price lets you benefit from it greatly.
As a person who watched the TL vs GG series, I am anxious to see TL face a team with a much higher pace of play. The fact that FLY led the LCS in Kills during the regular season should open up more scoring opportunities for TL as they currently average the least Combined Kills per Minute of any remaining team. Broxah had 10 Kills in a 2 game span last week against GG, so he is hot. With how slow that series was, you should be impressed that Broxah averaged 25 points per game.
In S04’s 3-0 sweep over SK, Fakerdagge had 2 perfect games (0 Deaths) and 2 games over 30 fantasy points. All this coming despite S04’s upside being capped by the shorter game duration wins. This week, Fakerdagge faces Humanoid in-lane, fresh off of 2 games in which he died 5+ times in each. Fakerdagge is the true God of the S04 Miracle Run.
We may just be witnessing the best LoL Bjergsen has ever played in his career. He is putting the entire TSM squad on his back and now gets to take his swing at C9 this week. Bjergsen had 2 games of 7 Kills just last series, and if TSM wins this series against the struggling C9, we all should expect those totals to be even higher. Very stable floor but massive upside here, take the risk carefully.
If MAD is going to put an end to the S04 Miracle Run, it will come on the back of the Bot Lane and the Jungler. Carzzy and Shadow are the only carry-potential players that seemingly haven’t collapsed over their last 8 games, 6 of which have been losses. If MAD beats S04 and then gets another series against RGE, Carzzy has a great chance of being the highest scoring player of the entire slate. Also, the fact that Carzzy put up 80+ last week with only a single win makes this risk one with little bottom-out potential.
Every time I look at the stats of a new S04 member, I feel that they can make a case for MVP of the Miracle Run. In S04’s 3-0 win over SK, one in which he faced off against Crownshot in-lane, Neon finished with an incredible 11/2/28 line. He had a KP over 78% in all of those games, showing that he is extremely involved in S04’s success in fights. As a bonus, all 3 of those games came on Senna, making Neon an incredibly safe pick for your Captain.
Let’s not forget, that TSM win came with Biofrost having half a week of practice with the team. He definitely made mistakes, but he also had over 77% KP in all 3 of their wins and has an incredibly low price this week. In a rivalry like C9 vs TSM, anything can happen. Let’s see what Biodaddy can do for $80k after a full week of starter’s practice.
From a fantasy perspective, that TL vs GG series was booooring. However, CoreJJ was able to top 50 points in that snoozer. You know how I feel about Supports; I want my 3 wins. TL has their work cut out for them, but should still be seen as the LCS favorite. FLY will also do a much better job than GG at speeding up the game and opening up scoring opportunities.
In their last 4 wins, FLY has; destroyed 11 Towers and 2 Rift Heralds in 3 of 4, and Killed at least 4 Dragons and 1 Baron in all 4. That’s a lot of numbers thrown around, but it is impressive. If they are going to beat TL, they will be looking to follow this playstyle they have established. If FLY beats TL, they will most likely end up the highest-scoring team on the slate.
Do you believe in miracles??? What kind of miracle run would stop one series short of making Worlds? It can’t end like this… It just can’t. Honestly, S04 at $230k is the lowest you can go without being shocked by the team winning the series. Gimme those Team wins.
